Mine Safety Fact:
NIOSH is the federal agency that develops and revises recommended exposure limits (RELs) for hazardous substances and chemicals at mining operations. These recommendations are then published and transmitted to MSHA for use in promulgating permissible exposure limits (PELs) and other safety and health standards such as the hazard communication, MSDS and PPE requirements.
