Mine Safety Fact:  An inadequate conveying system can generate 1% to 3% fugitive material.  The spillage requires frequent manual clean up, exposing miners to the hazards associated with such maintenance work.  Engineering solutions, that address spillage and carryback, can reduce exposure to these hazards and minimize compliance problems associated with accumulations.
