SafetyMine Terms Of Use

Although the SafetyMine collects and analyzes information about your visit to its website, the SafetyMine respects your privacy:

How The SafetyMine Collects Information

SafetyMine tracks user traffic patterns throughout the site. We collect this information using a first-party cookie that is stored on your computer. Because first-party cookies are considered non-invasive, they do not violate the vast majority of corporate privacy policies and are able to pass through nearly all company firewalls.

SafetyMine also collects information about users. We collect this information by reading each user's browser string, which includes domain name, IP address, browser type, referrer and other information. This information contained in every user's browser string and automatically logged by nearly all Internet sites.

SafetyMine also collects the search terms that users enter in the search field. If you have privacy concerns about the items that you search for, you can avoid typing search terms altogether by using the category search.

What The SafetyMine Does With The Information

SafetyMine uses the information about traffic patterns, users and search terms for several purposes including:

  • Diagnosing problems with its servers.
  • Administering and improving the website.
  • Providing feedback to advertisers about their specific listings.
  • Providing anonymous generic demographic information about users to advertisers.
  • Identifying trends that are of interest to advertisers and partners.

What The SafetyMine Does Not Do With The Information

SafetyMine does not correlate user information with data about individual users. In fact, SafetyMine does not even collect personally identifying information from our users. You are never required to logon or to personally identify yourself. In most cases, you are only identifiable as a generic IP address that is randomly generated by your Internet service provider and included in your browser string.

SafetyMine does not correlate user information with traffic information. Because SafetyMine uses a first party cookie, SafetyMine cannot identify the individual traffic patterns of specific users. Our traffic analysis is aggregated and/or anonymous. In addition, SafetyMine does not correlate search terms with specific users.
